"I do not recommend the Memory Care unit at Brookdale Senior Living in Orland Park, IL. They are not qualified to care for dementia residents. I experienced numerous issues from early on with the facility. The management is unprofessional and is not held accountable for serious errors. The staff is not trained and cannot follow critical directives. Ultimately, they did not honor my loved one's DNR which created senseless suffering for him and left our family devastated. "I was very scared to move my mom into a supportive living facility, the director of this facility had my back every step of the way from start to finish and made the process seem-less, this was not an easy decision as most know if they care for a LO, my mom is happy here, the head nurse answers my texts no matter the time of day, the doctor that sees the residents noticed my mom had a UTI and had her on antibiotics right away, my mom has gained 26 lbs since moving in to her apt, her heart doctor was impressed at how well she was doing in such a short amount of time, the dining area could use some improvements as far as I noticed some heaters broken and ceiling issues, but that has no effect on the great food they serve, my mom LOVES IT! "Hello, my mom was in Peace Village Independent living from January 2019 - September 2024 when she passed away. She loved it and was taken care of by a great staff. The biweekly cleaning staff, Linda and Susie, did a great job but also went above and beyond for my mom. Truly special people that worked at Peace Village for so many years. Also Dawn in the cafeteria would check on my mom if she didn't see or hear from her. Jake was the renovations person at the time and put in cabinet lighting and a backsplash that my mom loved to show off. So many kind people working at Peace Village. The 3 maintenance staff were great too! Also, they always had festivities for the staff. My mom loved the Afternoon Teas. The food, decor was amazing! The weekly happy hours, special lunch popups, etc. the Christmas decorations are amazing. My mom loved sitting by the quiet pond in the rocker with a cup of tea from Branches. "I was a short-term resident of this facility, and I have family members who have been residents there as well. My personal experience, as well as the experiences of my family members at this facility has been very positive. The facility's Administration has an open door policy and has been willing to listen to issues or concerns I had or my family members had, and then quickly addressed them. Staff members, from Nurses, to CNAs, to Housekeepers and Maintenance have been highly responsive and attentive, and the facility is kept very clean. The facility also has an excellent Physical and Occupational Therapy staff who really go out of their way to work with the residents who receive therapy. "Smith Crossing is Beautiful for Independent Living. Mom has been there since 2006 and now that she’s in skilled nursing (at 98 yrs) she’s not treated with the compassion and respect she deserves. The full time staff is pretty good the agency people couldn’t care less. I’m disgusted and the price on here is way off !
