It has taken months for me to be able to talk about our experience with Harbor Chase memory care. 1,because it was such a traumatic experience, & 2, I’ve just been too busy trying to make sure my mother has 24hr assistance at home. Here is my personal experience. Yes, they are amazingly friendly and helpful, until you are a resident. Trying to get someone on phone to get update on mom was next to impossible, even after meeting with director to voice my concerns, & multiple texts & phone calls explaining my frustration. Things missing from her room within days of arrival- iPad, new make up still in box, birdhouse that was handmade by her stepson, &her wedding ring. Anytime she got aggressive we’d get a phone call-either we come up there & deal with her or they’d send her to psych facility. And last, but by far the most concerning- my stepfather took her home on a Monday evening. When I went to get her clothes Tues after 9am, an aide told me she was still in bed. Hadn’t checked on her.

I recently visited HarborChase of Germantown and was amazed by the luxurious accommodations and warm welcome I received. The detailing alone at the bar is impressive. The staff seemed incredibly attentive and patient, making sure that my family felt comfortable during the transition process. The facilities are top-notch, with modern decor and a wide range of activities for their residents. The activity director is amazing, ensuring that everyone stays engaged and entertained. My parents will be very well taken care of here, knowing that they will be surrounded by caring staff in a luxury-style community.
