It’s an embarrassment and in insulting to local vets. I would think it is disrespectful to any vets living at the property. "My parents were both at the Hawthorn Lakes facility in Independent living side. They initially signed up for the mixed in the bridge between the 2 units. All was good until my Dad passed. Then they started screwing up the bills -- charging for a parking spot he gave up a month before passing, and still charging as if he were living there. This was all through ACH transfers. Tammy the Exec. Dir. at the time did try to help and the only thing that worked was turning off ACH after having nearly $12K in credit. Mom continued to live there, but used their in-home services. Home services was not doing what they said on several occasions. Finally, when mom ended up in hospital, they stopped doing the weekly light cleaning and adding tons of charges. "Azpira is a supportive living community. After a two year private pay period residents that need to can transition to Medicaid with the help of staff. Jenneen Hansen and Jessica Meyer are two of the best pros in the business. Very good location for residents from several towns in all directions. There is a outdoor courtyard with gazebo that residents love to use in the warm months. "This place has went down hill!! The food is good, but always cold. On Sundays you have a continental breakfast and then a boxed lunch with a sandwich and some cut up vegetables. The activities are the worse, jewelry making once a week, petting a dog, puzzles and movies. They have happy hour and a once a month birthday trivia, which they give you a piece of fruit on lettuce. Many residents have had things stolen from their apartments and the cleaning is terrible. They wash the floor and empty your garbage, but the dust builds up everywhere.
