Retiring in Charlotte

While the cost of living might be a little higher than average in Charlotte proper, retiring here is still a wise financial decision. North Carolina is considered moderately friendly to retirees as it does not tax Social Security income. Withdrawals from retirement accounts are taxed, as are wages. However, state tax is only 4.75%
