Buttercup, the community dog, welcomes visitors and residents alike to Sunrise on Old Meridian. Located in Carmel, Indiana, Sunrise on Old Meridian is a beautiful community with a quaint, intimate feel. The care continuum allows residents to age in place, shifting as needed from an independent lifestyle to care-focused assisted living and memory support for those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, and coordination of hospice care. The Center has developed two special programs for those dealing with memory loss; one is Reminiscence Neighborhood which has suites designed to promote social engagement and encourage a mutually supportive community. The Terrace Club neighborhood is for residents living with the early stages of memory loss. Each neighborhood features secure courtyards and trained staff. For all residents, medical support is located nearby, provided by IU Health North Hospital just across the street, as well as St. Vincent Hospital, and Franciscan Health. A variety of on-site amenities, including 24-hour nursing, transportation seven days a week, underground garage parking, an exercise room, walking path surrounding the community, library, and theater rooms. In addition, the community is close to shopping, dining, entertainment, and recreation, including The Fashion Mall, Clay Terrace, Castleton Square Mall, The Palladium, Meijer, and Le Peep. Proud winner of the 2017 Award Winner for Great Lakes, the Center goes above and beyond to ensure that the quality of care is exceptional and the activities programming reflects the interests of our residents. In a typical week, residents enjoy live music during socials, and outings to local events in the surrounding Carmel community. Residents are also active volunteers in the community, whether this means crocheting hats for infants in NICU; creating quilts for the Ronald McDonald House for children receiving treatment; collecting toys around the holidays for children at the hospital; or volunteering at the local food pantry.
