    Our overall experience was very disappointing. Our family member spent the last months of his life at TLC Apple Tree in San Mateo. We selected this facility based on location, the cleanliness of the house, availability of a single room and the owner claiming the house manager had 10 years of experience outside of the country and equivalent training to the US. It quickly became apparent it was not what they claimed. The manager was very inexperienced and afraid to make even the most basic healthcare decisions. There was also an unhealthy dynamic in the house. Poor communication between the manager, owner and staff led to multiple issues that were not appropriate or warranted. We felt blindsided and confused since our actions were always in support of the team and we were going out of our way to follow their lead. The rules seemed to constantly change with no explanation. There were a couple of excellent staff members but, ultimately, it was not a good experience for any of us.
