I’ve experienced firsthand knowledge of this place and the owner does NOT provide anywhere near the hands on care he claims to provide. Very short staffed, patients left unattended at all hours…day and night. This is mostly due to the owner not being able to hire competent staff and when he has a good one or two he literally works them 24/7. Little to no activities, meals start out good and then become subpar. No clue if any snacks you bring for your own loved one are ever given to them or if the staff is indulging in what you brought. The owner has many personal issues which he openly admits. His staff is not happy and has voiced their concerns to family members of patients. TV’s are blaring day and night and medicines are not given during the night on time. The best thing about this place is it’s clean. He doesn’t even know what his own contract states. For him it’s only about the money, it definitely is not about your loved ones care.

My mom moved into Revel Mc Dowell Mountain in Sept 2023. They are not providing an adequate number of activities for the residents, the building is not handicapped friendly (no grab bars in halls, no safety checks, & limited supervised workout options), they keep cutting back services they originally promised (big ones: Physical Therapy and transportation. It is a new building and they did cut corners especially in the apartments. Most notably cabinets are swelling at the seems, door into apt is too heavy and swings shut to quickly for someone with a walker, no call buttons or emergency plan of any kind, and the kitchen cabinets all go to the ceiling, but they are not longer cabinets so if your short (under 5’3”) using the bottom shelf is a challenge & the upper shelves are unusable. Overall, we are extremely disappointed with the entire operation. They have been open for 2 years and can’t seem to get above 35% occupancy. They also can’t keep staff. My recommendation stay away.

My parent lived at Andara for many years. Independent Living was fine. The last two years in Assisted Living was horrific and dangerous. Extremely long wait times when a Call button is pushed, extremely high numbers of medication errors and lack of transparency. While we do not blame the caregivers for most of the problems, we fault the management. They are owned by a New York Investment Company and have had multiple managers in the last few years. The worst situation occurred fairly recently when an assisted living director was caught making false statements. Please go elsewhere if you want your loved one to be safe.
