Springhouse Village East

We are so happy that we moved to The Springhouse Village. The community is truly a pleasant place to live. All of the staff are very professional and friendly. The grounds are kept exceptionally clean and very well maintained. The gated community is safe and a good place to walk. All of the residents are friendly, and we enjoy the weekly dinners with them.

They do not take the time to get to know your love one and their personality. They do not know how to be a true memory care facility. Residents in memory care have Dementia! They are confuse and need love, respect, grace and care. They do not know how to help the caregiver! Especially in the area of ideas and options with your love ones different quirks and personality that they believe are unexceptable in their eye. Unless your love one has mild dementia, do not put them in this facility.

I moved my 92 yo mother into the facility in August, 2022. The place is beautiful and well kept, the staff are lovely! Of course there are situations that are less than ideal, as there would be with any facility, but the staff know the residents names and issues and care for them lovingly. When I can't be there, that is all I can ask. There are ample activities (movies, crafts, performers, country drives, trips to stores) to get involved should the resident choose, but of course they won't force them to go. Meals are promptly at 9, 12 and 5:00, which provide a good socialization time - but of course they can't force attendance. There is a beauty shop onsite and even the maintenance folks are responsive and attentive. She's only been there 5 months, but I couldn't be more pleased. Thank you!!

If you are thinking about Springhouse Village as a place for you or your loved ones, please keep reading. Don't base your decision on the new buildings and decorations. In the year my 94-year-old mom has been there I have experienced constant frustration with their leadership. No communication about urgent health issues, agonizingly slow follow-through on requests for information or maintenance of my mom's room, unlocked security doors, leaders and employees having conversations about clients in public spaces. Right now, my mom is in the hospital with a broken hip. Because of their failure to communicate, it was 2 days before the news reached me in Kansas City. My assessment: more marketing than leadership, more profit motive than caring, and more excuses than accountability. I'll tell the story of my family's experience to anyone who wants to hear it. You should have all the information you can before you sign over any of your loved one's care or decide to work for Springhouse Village.
