The memory aids seem to talk alot to each other and are not concerned with what is on the TV. They seem to use the TV as a 'babysitter' . Also the aids are very defensive and kind of mouthy when called out on anything. Other staff stops in just to talk to people on duty and have been known to use 4 letter words and talk loudly. The staff seem to do well with activities but the aids don't seem to care or follow thru with the care. I was told by one aid that it wasn't her job to change the channel on the TV when I said that TV was showing something inappropriate. (third time mentioning inappopriate TV) That it was the responsiblity of the person who just finished interacting with the residents. Remember I said mouthy? The staff seem to want better than the untrained aids are giving. The aids have been nice to the patients when outside people are present but I wonder about when no one is around.
