What families are saying

We’ve gathered and summarized real family reviews from across the internet for you. Contact a Seniorly representative for details.
The Lafayette is an independent senior living community with mixed reviews. Many residents and their families praise the friendly and caring staff, the cleanliness of the facility, and the sense of community. The apartments are described as spacious and well-maintained, with some featuring full kitchens. The community offers a variety of activities, including happy hours, bingo, and exercise classes, which are appreciated by residents. The transportation service is also highlighted as a significant benefit. However, there are notable concerns, particularly regarding the dining services. Many reviews mention that the food quality is inconsistent, with some describing it as mediocre or inedible. There are also complaints about the dining room being understaffed and the potential shift to a pay-per-meal system, which has caused financial concerns for some residents. Additionally, some reviews mention issues with maintenance, security, and communication from management. The facility is undergoing renovations, which some see as a positive step, but others feel that essential updates, like plumbing and electrical systems, are being overlooked. Despite these issues, many residents express satisfaction with their living experience, citing the welcoming atmosphere and the staff's dedication. Overall, while The Lafayette has its strengths, particularly in community and staff support, there are areas, especially dining and management, that require improvement to meet all residents' expectations.

All 3 meals (Breakfast lunch and dinner) are included in the monthly rent. That has not changed. It's restaurant style dinning.

November 2024
As of January 2, 2025, all residents will no longer have their meals included in their rent, but will have to pay for them in the current dining room with either cash or credit card. The dining room has been converted into a restaurant and bar. Only lunch and dinner will be served, and the menu will not change, unlike the current meals. Each entree, dessert, and drink will be charged a la carte. Price points given to the current residents range from $10 to $25 per person, per meal, depending upon what is ordered. This decision reflects on the parent company and not the staff, which are friendly and caring. It has caused many current residents, and their families, financial and mental distress, forcing them to scramble for solutions in the short notification time given. My family will be sad to leave due to the financial strain and limited nutritional value being offered to our elder generation.
