Cottage Grove Place is so much more than a beautiful place to live. We're situated in a lovely residential neighborhood at the corner of First Avenue SE and Cottage Grove Avenue, just minutes from restaurants, shopping, hospitals, cultural activities, places of worship and professional services. As a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), we provide residential living options for three specific levels of care: independent living, assisted living and skilled nursing care.

Cottage Grove Place consists of two buildings containing 166 one and two-bedroom apartments for independent living, with additional rooms dedicated to activities and entertainment. An underground concourse connects the two residences together. We also have 19 assisted living apartments and a 52-unit skilled nursing center including 12 beds designated as low-stimulus which are ideal for residents with Alzheimer's or other age-related dementia.

The interests of our residents always come first. As a not-for-profit corporation overseen by a local, independent board of trustees, Cottage Grove Place is a true LifeCare retirement community. We always put our residents first. More than 150 dedicated staff members provide professional services in a friendly and personalized manner. These good people — along with our enthusiastic residents — have been instrumental in making Cottage Grove Place the highly regarded senior living community it is today.

A simple concept; A secure future. Cottage Grove Place is more than just a continuing care community. We're Cedar Rapid's only LifeCare community. LifeCare is a plan that provides health care when you need it. In return for your payment of a one-time entrance fee, as well as your monthly fee, you receive unlimited access to a full continuum of on-site services.

If you ever need assisted living, memory support, or skilled nursing care, you'll have priority access to these services. If a spouse needs care, all services are located on one site.

Your LifeCare benefit is guaranteed for as long as you live at Cottage Grove Place so you can feel confident and secure about your future.

Choosing LifeCare is also a solid financial decision. If you select a 50% return of equity plan, your assets won't be depleted to pay for the costs of long-term care. If you do require additional care, your monthly fee will be predictable, protecting you from rising health care costs.
