Welcome to St. Martin's In The Pines, a large continuing care retirement community in Irondale, AL. St. Martin's In The Pines is located at 4941 Montevallo Road, and offers assisted living services for older adults.
If you’re assessing whether a continuing care retirement community (CCRC) is right for you, Seniorly Gerontologists have created a Care Needs Calculator to support families in their search for the right type of community. CCRC residents may start out living independently in their own house or apartment and then, as they age and require more care, move to assisted living suites, where they'll have access to 24-hour non-medical care, and assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs). Many CCRCs also offer memory care for residents with Alzheimer's or dementia diagnoses. This arrangement not only allows residents to stay in familiar environments as they age, it can also help keep couples together. If one partner requires assisted living or memory care, the other will still be able to live with them or right next door. Residents can take advantage of activities to suit everyone from active older adults to those who need more daily care.
Seniorly’s expert Senior Living Advisors can be enormously helpful for families considering the complex decision to move into a continuing care retirement community. This free advisor service can provide exact pricing, schedule tours and evaluate communities. Simply fill out this form to learn more.
Nearly sixty years ago, the Rev. David Cady Wright, rector of St. Mary's-on-the-Highlands Episcopal Church, was concerned that many of his parishioners would not have a dignified, comfortable retirement. It was Rev. Wright's pastoral concern which gave St. Martin's its beginning.
This commitment has been one reason for our continued growth. In 1957, St. Martin's began as a retirement residence for 80 residents. Today, we're a comprehensive retirement community, with a skilled nursing center, an assisted living facility, a secure Alzheimer's community, and a new comprehensive therapy and transitional care program, the Pines Rehab. And we have revolutionized nursing home care with our new homes we call, "The Cottages at St. Martin's".
But as we've grown, one thing remains constant: our mission to meet the physical, social, and spiritual needs of each resident. Because St. Martin's physical and spiritual growth is still guided by the Episcopal Foundation of Jefferson County, our residents and their families can count on a sense of comfort, security, and personal worth. Although the religious orientation of St. Martin's is Episcopalian, residents of all denominations are welcome.
