Freedom House at Air Force Village has been a model of memory care since it opened in 1998. This state-of-the-art facility believes in a nurturing atmosphere and a holistic approach to health. They provide safety and care in a community-style setting for those over age 62.
There are 72 beds at Freedom House with a 24-hour specially trained staff and a nurse and a doctor always on call. Assistance with eating, bathing, grooming, and dressing is provided. Pets are allowed and are worked into the therapy at Freedom House as is gardening, exercise, interaction with children, outings, dances, Bible study, and more. There is also a chapel, salon, and three meals a day plus snacks.
Freedom House is also a valuable part of a $10 million research facility exploring treatments and cures for Alzheimer’s. End-of-life hospice care can also be arranged for residents.
