Unfortunately my mom’s stay at this assisted living was only a few months long. There were too many issues with the medical /wellness managment which impacted the quality of care my mom received. I was extremely disappointed and surprised that there would be such a difference in the quality of care depending on which Bristal you chose. The peace of mind that comes from knowing we could trust this facility to take proper care of my mom just wasn’t there. I felt required to be there on a daily basis to ensure they were doing what was supposed to be done. Very stressful ! After many many discussions with the Wellness Managment asking them to do what was needed to meet my moms medical and daily care needs, none of which were particularly difficult or unusual, I had to accept the fact that they were just indifferent and unwilling care for my mom properly. I moved her to the N. Woodmere Bristal and the difference in quality of care is tremendous. They take wonderful care of her.

Nothing is perfect. In our society we seem to always focus on the negative aspects of things. My mother has been at The Bristal in Westbury for nearly a year. It has not been easy. She did not move in one day and feel at “home” the next. It took time. Our loved ones are dealing with loss. Loss of independence, their homes, their youth. It was a long period of adjustment for us both. I must say that Director Kimberly Bent is top notch. She understood this and stood by my mother and I through all of our trials and tribulations and supported us. She listened. She made adjustments when necessary. She gave time, even on her days off. Evening Nurse Bob M. is a kind and caring person. He goes above and beyond. Kayden and LaMar the concierge staff are outstanding and I look forward to their bright smiling faces whenever I visit. I know they look out for Mom. I know they work hard and care. I know they will keep me up to date on the day to day goings on. Is it perfect. No. Life is not perfect

The Bristal at Westbury has been my parents' home for almost 10 months now. The staff has been very compassionate to my parents, and the Front Desk Team is always on the ball. They have a cool partnership with Hofstra University to offer lectures which my dad loves. Thank you!
