Mission Villa is an exceptional Senior and Memory Care providing personalized, concierge care in a warm family-style setting.

Mission Villa assists with all activities of daily living at every stage of need, from minimum to maximum care. Hospice services are available.

We take the stress out of the daily routines, including showering, restroom use, teeth brushing, and transfers. These highly personal routines can be stressful. We reduce that stress with eye-to-eye contact, conversation, and consideration. We move through the activities slowly, respectfully, and with 'permission.' Our methods of transferring residents include one-person, two-person, and mechanical lift solutions.

Here at Mission Villa, we are a family. Our 14-bed home, conveniently located in midtown Santa Barbara, is designed to provide exceptionally safe and positive care in a warm, family-style setting. Our approach to cognitive care is rooted in a holistic perspective, which means we address every aspect of well-being. We focus on the building blocks of good health, including nutrition, environmental factors (like the right lighting at the right time of the day), physical exercise, brain training, and social engagement, all of which are informed by the latest research in the field.

Our unique 3:1 staff-to-resident ratio includes dedicated care staff, a housekeeper, a chef, a life enrichment coordinator, an administrator, a care manager, an executive director, and an activities coordinator - all universally trained to provide care and emergency response. This universal and fully-integrated approach to staffing ensures that our residents are safe and their round-the-clock concierge care is uninterrupted.

Mission Villa is committed to staying at the forefront of advancements in cognitive health. We actively participate in programs like UCSB's Center for Aging and Longevity Studies (CALS) and the Brain Exercise Initiative program conducted by the students in the neuroscience program. We understand that we may not reverse cognitive impairment, but we aim to challenge its effects by strengthening and fortifying our residents' overall health. Through various activities and personalized care choices, we focus on reducing stress, nourishing the body with clean, functional foods, and giving ample opportunities to engage in activities that promote social engagement and cognitive and physical wellness. Our days are filled with live music, freshly prepared farm-to-table meals, spontaneous outings to local venues (like Lotusland, the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, shows at the Lobero, a visit to Alice Keck Park, or an ice cream from Mission Ice Cream, to name a few), and a relaxed, comfortable setting where residents can enjoy daily live music or performance, enjoy a book, have a conversation, play games or watch a movie.
