At Anderson Assisted Living Home your family becomes part of our family. We are not a large center with hundreds of residents and rotating caregivers. This is a small home with family pictures on the wall, pets looking for laps, and ample hugs for everyone. We care for only four women so our residents get the care that they specifically need. We can cook favorite meals, organize activities that each resident enjoys, and even choose their favorite movies to watch on a Friday night.
My philosophy is that no matter your age or medical condition, we all need love and happiness in our lives. We have cats and dogs in our house. They make us laugh and bring warmth and comfort when they cuddle in our laps. I have a strong belief in music as a way to uplift and bring joy. Music evokes emotion and memories. Many studies have been done showing amazing positive effects in the elderly with Alzheimer’s Disease, Parkinsons Disease, and other conditions. With only four residents, we can bring your loved one’s favorite music back into her life. Birthdays will be celebrated in our home and families are always welcome to visit.
As a soon-to-be licensed RN, I believe that it is important to not only prevent problems, but it is important to monitor for changes in health. We will take vitals weekly and more often if necessary. I understand the importance of positioning to avoid pressure wounds. Medical conditions such as diabetes or hypertension will be closely monitored and proper nutrition will be provided to meet each resident’s needs. Resident’s will be clean and well cared for. If needed, many hospitals are very close by, including Mountain Vista Medical Center, Banner Baywood, Banner Gateway, and Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Home services are available including medical and hairdressers. We will coordinate with your insurance to find providers that can meet her needs.
Again, because we are small, we can work with the needs of your loved one. We can provide care for women with Alzheimer’s Disease or Dementia, Respite care of 2 weeks to 6 months, multiple medical conditions, and Hospice and Palliative Care.
If you are looking for a place where your loved one will be cared for as a member of the family, then please give me a call. Bigger is not always better. I look forward to hearing from you.
