The state inspector who gave Hawthorne Hill the IJ tag was a previous employee who cried when she was on call and had to work the exact floor she later came to judge - being unable to even perform the job she was hired to judge. The IJ tag was due to a charting error. Which I’m not sure what charting error causes immediate jeopardy to patients . On top of that, the family of the exact patient HH was given the IJ tag for- defended us to the state and said the care at HH was the best their mother ever got. It didn’t matter to this ex employee who was also doing her very first survey again on a job- she is not able to do herself without crying like a baby and it’s also why she left this job after two years. She refused to work the med cart while on call for staff that called out. The IJ tag was completely corrupt. The state actually refused to change their verdict - even though everyone in the business knows that HH is one of two of the highest quality care facilities in the area.

Nurses are good . CNAs are pathetic. I asked for lunch today and never received it. I asked for water this morning....never received it. New staff poorly trained. Never ever follow up with patients. Rooms are never cleaned...run the other way!!!!

I have found the staff to be professional, helpful and kind at all times. “All hands on deck” means everyone comes from their offices to help. I have seen all the administrators inline to grab lunch trays for residents in order to give out food while hot. I have seen senior nursing staff in resident rooms and hallways talking to them and addressing concerns. At a time when placing my Mom was hard, every single person was compassionate. And listened! A special shout-out to Tony and Kristin. They know each resident by name and treat all with love, respect and fun!
