"My husband was in this faciliity for about 5 days in 2019. when we picked this place we were promised many things. A room fairly close to a nurses station was one of the things. When I got there his room so far in the back of the building, I went and complained. He as moved but the room had a constant gas leak smell and were told not to worry about it. The think that still upsets me to this day is he complained about stomach discomort yet no one checked him. Finally on a Sunday he told me he couldn't take the pain anymore and wanted to go to the hospital. We asked lexington to call an ambulance. When they came they asked different questions. I over heard the nurse say oh he is just constipated and not to make a big deal. At the hospital we found he had bowel blockage, couldn't operate and he died two weeks later. I recent how the nurse on duty handled the whole incident, plus she had an awful atitude. and she made his death even harder. I would never tell anyone to go there" - Sharon… Read more

"Lake Forest Place is a lovely to place to live if you are in the independent section. However, the Balmoral Skilled Nursing Facility is terrible. There is a culture of blame and denial. The staff is poorly trained and there is a high turnover rate. There are some good and kind people who work there, but not many. Do not put your loved one there if they need skilled care.
