What families are saying

The reviews for The Reserve at Royal Oaks and Colonial Oaks Westchase present a mixed picture of these memory care facilities. Many reviewers praise The Reserve at Royal Oaks for its attentive and caring staff, clean environment, and effective management, particularly highlighting individuals like Crystal Xixitla and Lydia Baker for their professionalism and compassion. Families express satisfaction with the care provided, noting improvements in their loved ones' well-being and the facility's welcoming atmosphere. However, some reviews raise serious concerns about the management, particularly Lydia Baker, accusing her of restricting residents' freedom and communication with family. Complaints also include missing personal items, poor food quality, and sudden price increases. Colonial Oaks Westchase receives similar mixed feedback. Positive reviews commend the compassionate and attentive staff, who are described as energetic and empathetic. Families appreciate the facility's supportive environment, which allows them to enjoy quality time with their loved ones without the stress of caregiving. However, there are negative reviews citing issues with specific staff members and serious incidents, such as a bed sore leading to a resident's death due to inadequate treatment. Despite these concerns, many families express gratitude for the peace of mind provided by the facility, noting that their loved ones are happier and more active than when living alone. Overall, both facilities are recognized for their dedicated staff and supportive environments, but they also face criticism for management practices and specific care incidents.

I am so thankful to have found The Reserve at Royal Oaks for my father. The staff are friendly, caring and professional, taking great care of their needs. They communicate well with the healthcare providers to make sure that their residents receive the best care possible. I love that their are family nights where we can get together with other families of residents, meet some of the staff and enjoy a nice meal together. I know that my parents are safe and happy in these wonderful facilities and I couldn't be more grateful.
