Legacy Pointe of Iowa City is a newer senior living community located just 10 minutes from the University of Iowa. The community offers three levels of care: Memory Care, Assisted Living and Independent Living. Activities are provided for and target the level of care needed. Memory care patients have a variety of choices including Bingo, sing-alongs and movies. Residents in assisted living also play games, have Sittercize classes, do puzzles with other residents, get manicures, have their hair styled and go on outings. Independent living residents also go on outings, hear speakers from the University of Iowa and participate in fitness classes. These are just small samples of the long list of activities offered to residents. Residents can choose from several one and two-bedroom floor plans designed for the level of care. Independent living apartments have full-size kitchens and heated underground parking. Cats are welcome and residents can have dogs that weigh less than 30 pounds. Utilities are included and the facility has WIFI. Assisted living apartments have kitchenettes and residents may bring their furniture from home. Memory care residents have rooms with private bathrooms. These residents receive help with bathing, grooming and other daily tasks. Housekeeping and laundry is provided with all units.
