"Today, senior housing is a $350 billion industry. Finding the right senior living facility for a loved one can be a daunting task. One Bay Area man whose family has been serving seniors for three generations is trying to change that. With more than 60% of baby boomers searching online for senior housing options, this growth has led to the creation of a nearly billion dollar ‘placement’ industry, made up of referral agencies and directories which offer limited information and take away control of the discovery process." - Heather Holmes, co-anchor KTVU Channel 2 Weekend News

Seniorly strives to move away from this idea of “placement” and instead empower families to take back control of the senior housing search process. For many families, finding the right community for a loved one (out of the hundreds of options available) is a daunting task. Seniorly aims to simplify the process by offering filters to limit results for preferences like pet friendly housing, dietary needs, foreign language options, and more.

On December 28th, KTVU interviewed Seniorly Founder & CEO Arthur Bretschneider about www.seniorly.com and the way it’s transforming the search for elder care. With Seniorly, families get a partner during this difficult transition, and signing up for free online gives them access to community inspection reports, pricing, local availability, and more.

When asked what families should be aware of while touring different care communities, Bretschneider responded:

“I think the wisest thing that I have heard from a family who has been searching is that no questions are out of bounds. You’re looking for a place for a loved one. You’re talking about a place where they’re going to be taken care of. And you need to ask every question that comes to mind.”

Finding a new home for a loved one is so important, and it goes beyond the most basic necessities like food and shelter. You want to find a place where your loved one will feel happy and engaged, so you need to pay close attention to the additional offerings available at the communities you tour.

“Of course you need a community that serves the right level of care...And of course budget is also important. But let’s take it a step further. What we’re trying to do at Seniorly is make sure that you find that right fit. It’s not just about finding any place; it’s about finding the right place.

Seniorly’s unique approach empowers families to take back control of the search process so that they can be confident in their choice when the time comes to move in. With the Seniorly team, families can rest assured that their loved ones will age well, surrounded by the care and happiness they so deserve.
