My mother loves the staff, food, and all the wonderful activities they have throughout the day. Its nice to be the daughter again and not the caretaker. I strongly recommend this community for your family like I did.

Michelle B is right on in her description, her comment on the rent raise though can be dwarfed by mine which was originally 67%!! I questioned this absurd increase to corporate management and was invited to a meeting with Elison's management.I asked for the basis of this increase and did not get an answer but they implied it was because my rent was low but it was what they chose to charge me! They did lower the increase from 67% to 39%!!

I live at Elison currently. The picture of the fitness room is 100% inaccurate. The dining room is one BIG frustration. 1/2 hr. to be waited on and another half hour until you are served with what you hope was your order but might not be. The kitchen staffing is very poor and as a hungry resident you remain hungry, until they see fit to take your order. They publish monthly activities; yet the daily activity sheet often does not correspond to what you receive on your monthly activity sheet. Many residents have mental health issues and are here solely due to their inability to manage their daily lives. They are not all seniors by any means. There are absolutely good things to say about this community, and if it is rated as No.1, I guess things could be much worse. As a senior living at Elison, I received an 8.5% increase from SSA this year. Elison then raised the rent exactly 8.5%. Someone please tell me how I can even afford to buy a pair of underwear?

Recently, my aunt telephoned me that she had not been feeling well. Knowing her, not to inconvenience anyone, she would hold out until she was desperate. Management at Embark would not take "no" for an answer and called an ambulance for her, immediately! Thank God, they did! She remained in the hospital for several days, with a serious urinary tract infection, bedridden with an intravenous drip, in her arm. After her release she informed me of her ordeal. Thank God for Embark and thank God for Seniorly, who was very responsive to helping her, when I first contacted them, requesting help in finding her a place to live. My aunt was feeling better with each new day, as she was finishing her prescribed antibiotics. She informed me that her new friends at Embark, welcomed her back with concerned greetings. She was pleased that Embark would transport her to the doctor, store or to any other venue, of her need. My aunt, Isabella Fichera, 88, is my only contact to the "old" family. She is my father's sister and Dad passed 1 1/2 years ago, at the age of 93, of the same infection. I am even more grateful for Seniorly, today!
