Fort Wayne’s only nationally accredited retirement community
Dedicated to the fulfillment of our mission, The Towne House has earned national accreditation, assuring that The Towne House is financially sound, offers a broad range of services including health care, and provides a superior quality of lifestyle for our residents. Most of our employees are long-term, and enjoy contributing to the positive atmosphere created here. They take pride in our mission and quality of care.
The Continuing Care Accreditation Commission (CCAC) was founded in 1985, and later merged with the commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF). Now known as CARF-CCAC, the accreditation commission is the only accrediting body for continuing care retirement communities. The Towne House has been an accredited community since 1990, and has chosen to become a nationally accredited community in addition to meeting all legal and regulatory requirements. This means that, in accordance with CARF-CCAC standards, we conform to proven business and financial practices, employee training, information management and continuous quality improvement planning.
The people we serve play an active and vital role in the CARF accreditation process, from helping to develop the international performance standards to giving input on the quality of services they receive. Through accreditation, our employees demonstrate their belief that all people have the right to be treated with dignity and respect, have access to needed services that achieve optimum outcomes, and are empowered to exercise informed choice. The Towne House is pleased to join CARF in this mission.
The Towne House is also proud to be CARF-CCAC accredited in Person Centered Care and Dementia Care. Within CARF’s Dementia Care standards, you will find standards that focus on many of the areas identified in the Dementia Care Practice Recommendations, including specialized training for staff, usability of the environment, ongoing assessment processes, involvement and the sharing of information with families/support systems, communication efforts through facilitating collaborative decision making, and incorporating end-of-life care into the care plan. CARF has also made strides over the last few years to update its standards to incorporate person-centered care themes and approaches.
CARF-CCAC accreditation not only provides assurance of quality and integrity, if offers the public a standard for comparison in evaluating retirement communities. By working to continuously improve our services, we can improve the quality of life for you and your loved ones. The Towne House’s focus is set firmly on your safety and happiness and on meeting your needs and expectations.
