In fact, this retirement community was different from the very beginning. The Summit is a partnership between Centra (recognized as one of the nation’s top 100 cardiology hospitals in the USA) and the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Virginia. Centra and the Disciples of Christ have combined excellence in health care with a clear mission you will find dependable and refreshing in Independent Living.

This is a Life Plan Community, offering a continuum of care conveniently on one campus, should you ever need it. The 120 bed Summit Health and Rehabilitation Center includes skilled nursing care. The Summit Assisted Living includes 43 private apartments.

The 143-acre campus features an 8½-acre lake complete with walking trails, benches, gazebo and dock. A canoe is available if you’re adventurous, or you can simple enjoy the beauty of nature. One resident has catalogued over 200 species of birds on campus.
