February 2022
I've lived at this facility for six years, the first four years it was known as Deer Meadow and was under different ownership. The last two years it has been under the administration of a company called Mosaic and is now known as River Park. In trying to give you a fair assessment, I'm going to be relaying the good, the bad and the ugly, because there is some of each. The good: The weather is great here, nothing beats Oregon during the summer months, and if you like living in the country this place will be up your alley. When mosaic bought this place they poured money into it, and it really shows. Everything was upgraded, from the carpet to the food. For a while, life was good here. The bad: The new bus Mosaic bought cannot accommodate power-chairs which is a substantial limitation for those of us who rely on one. Also, we lost a couple of key management people who made this place run well and in a friendly way. They are sorely missed. The ugly: The replacement people that Mosaic brought in have created a very undesirable atmosphere to live (and work) under. The staff are overworked and stressed out. Sometimes there's only one assistant working and we have over 50 rooms. On River Park's website you'll read verbiage such as "We are a resident-centered community with staff dedicated to an incredible and loving experience for residents and families alike." I wish this was true. I can only hope that those responsible for the distinctly unloving atmosphere will be moving on soon. Personally, I can deal with these undesirables, but I would be heart-broken if I knew my mom or grandma had to endure them. This is a real shame considering the money that was sunk into this place to make it a good place to live only to have that thwarted by one or two poor personnel choices. This review was written in February 2022, I'll update it as needed.
