Active. A nebulous sales word that means something to each individual. For me, it turned out to be misleading. I've lived in Sun City Mesquite Nevada for several years. The majority of residents are not active by an stretch of the imagination. The vast majority are white, out of shape, unattractive, and mentally stunted. Most should be in a central building type of community. The fitness center is pathetic. It's way too small for the number of residents and poorly managed. No tracking and graphing of usage, no worker is assigned to the fitness center, no out of service tags, no mandatory training, no rules on usage time or lingering on or around equipment, or how to use equipment properly. The vast majority of residents work out in the morning which should be expected in a retirment community. There is actually a crowd standing at the building entrance waiting to get into the building at 6:00 AM in the morning. The equipment is crammed close together. No room to expand.
