About Buckner Villas

Buckner Villas Retirement Community (formerly Marilyn M Campbell Center) is a non-profit assisted living community by Buckner Retirement Services with 34 beds. Some of the features and amenities in Independent Living include units with spacious closets, ceiling fans, kitchen appliances, all maintenance included, linen service, individually controlled air and heating systems, plus guest rooms and more. Services at this community include coordination of services and care with the resident's family doctor, available on-call staff 24/7, spiritual/emotional support, speech, occupational and physical therapies, and bereavement and support groups for families. In Alzheimer's, Memory and Dementia Care, residents of Buckner Villas Retirement Community will receive meals, housekeeping therapeutic activities as well as counseling, transportation, schedule of activities, 24-hour staffing, on-site maintenance personnel, wall-to-wall-carpet, private studio apartments, private half bathrooms with grab bars, and an audio-visual fire alarm. Estimated rates in Skilled Nursing start at $215 per day.

Go somewhere else for assisted living. There are very few activites offered and mom was in her room watching TV most of every day. Exercise class was sporadic, even after we expressed concern. Weeks would go by with no exercise. Mom is not picky, but said the food was very bad. Breakfast was ok, but lunch and dinner were not good. Memory care residents have been moving into the Grove, assisted living during the past year which isn't a good fit for those only needing assistance with activites of daily living For the time mom lived there rent would go up a small amount each January, however, from Dec 2023 to March 2024 her rent went up twice to over $1,000 a month more even though her level of care hadn't changed. When we questioned and objected to this increase the executive director's attitude was uncaring and condescending, even saying they would help us look for another community for her. We've moved her to another facility in the Austin area and the difference is like night and day.
