The suboptimal care, the lack of communication about the continuity of care (when the MC director left), the unhealthy food and the lack of responsiveness by 'leadership' is why we moved our parents from The Clarendale. Sadly, we should have moved them sooner. They were relieved to leave and deserve better. The self declared 'go to' resource and leader during the transition as the MC manager, is MIA. She does not respond to families, and has not been honest when confronted with misinformation she presented. She is a liability and put our parent’s health at risk. She has been aware of our family's concerns regarding the lack of care, the lack of staff support, (bedside caregivers working 10-12 days in a row), and the lack of attention improving nutrition and care to residents. Leadership has done nothing to improve the quality of care or support the staff even after our countless meetings.

The worst! As a nurse practitioner and daughter of two parents struggling w Alzheimer’s disease, I cannot recommend the clarendale Clayton for memory care or assisted living care. Our parent’s needs were neglected, nutrition negated and were scared. Our mother gained 46 pounds in 11 months due to the lack of nutritious meals and lack of exercise. Our parents deserve better. Check out the pictures of the crummy food served to our parents who pay $19,500/month for care and the urinal left with amber urine for me to dispose of. No problem doing that but shouldn’t the urine be tested and my dad taken care of? It is in my opinion as a clinical nurse specialist and advanced practice nurse, to not send your loved one to the clarendale.

As the daughter of two memory care residents, I can’t get them out of there fast enough. The place is a disaster. As a clinical nurse specialist, daughter and patient advocate, I cannot believe this place is still licensed. My parents were neglected. We visit daily. The leadership is a joke. I would like to upload photos of the urinal left in their room w brown urine (sign of severe dehydration) and “food” served to them for $9500/month each! So close to $20k per month!! A hot dog and cream of chicken slop on a plate. Our mother gained 46 pounds in 1 year. Leadership has not responded and even lied about their expertise! You can’t make this stuff up! We can’t get our precious parents out soon enough!
